“Geomorphology is the study of how the earth’s surface changes and the processes involved. Follow geologist Dr. John Whitmore and our host Dr. Del Tackett as they take us to Sheep Creek Canyon in Utah. Here, they see massive exposures of the Weber Sandstone (called the Coconino Sandstone in other parts of the United States). While much of the rock that was formed in this location was laid down during the worldwide Flood of Noah’s day, the actual carving of Sheep Creek Canyon seems to have happened well after the Flood was over. With some help from the field of geomorphology, Dr. Whitmore reveals what sorts of geologic processes were involved that created these unique formations.”
